In 1957, David and Mario Perrotti immigrated to the United States from Vallata, Italy at the ages of 10 and 12 years old alongside their parents and seven siblings, where they settled in Elizabeth, New Jersey. The two brothers began working at a local old time Pork Store where they learned the art of butchering and the meat market industry. Little did they know that they would become lifelong business partners. In the fall of 1967, David and Mario opened Perrotti's Quality Meats with the hopes of turning their newly found craft into a business of their own. Nearly 50 years later, PQM still operates at the corner of S. Union Ave. and Cherry St. in Cranford, New Jersey.
At Perrotti's today, we pride ourselves on being a family owned and operated business that treats our loyal customers like part of the family. The sons of David Perrotti, Dave Jr. and Nick Perrotti, have earned the responsibility of taking over the family business with an eye towards keeping the old world Butcher Shop a part of the community for the next 50 years.
Over time, the store has evolved from being an old world Butcher Shop, to now also offering countless homemade prepared specialties and deli items. The Perrotti's still takes pride in being able to provide customers with custom cut steaks, roasts, chops, homemade Italian sausage, and fresh ground meat. However, they are also known for providing local communities with the freshest homemade prepared meals such as Lasagna, Eggplant Parmesan, Chicken Marsala, Meatballs, and so much more! From canning their own homemade tomato sauce, to providing you with the greatest hand pressed beef burger, Perrotti's has been supplying local households with deliciously simple ways to feed your family a home cooked meal.
